December 9 - FUNDING SHOWCASES ARTISTS AROUND PROVINCE
VICTORIA - The B.C. government is providing $1.15 million to artists and arts groups around the province to support cultural activities, in part to mark the first anniversary of the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, Community, Sport and Cultural Development Minister Stephanie Cadieux announced today.

October 27 - $2 MILLION FOR ARTS ORGANIZATIONS ACROSS B.C.
VICTORIA –Arts organizations in communities across British Columbia are receiving grants totalling $2 million from the BC Arts Council this week.

October 15 - NEW BOARD MEMBERS STRENGTHEN BC ARTS COUNCIL
VICTORIA – Five new appointments, including a new chair and vice-chair have been appointed to the BC Arts Council, Tourism, Culture and the Arts Minister Kevin Krueger announced today.

September 13 - NEW ARTS FUNDING TO SUPPORT INNOVATION, SUSTAINABILITY
VICTORIA – The BC Arts Council board has approved a number of programs supporting innovation, commissioning, capacity building, sustainability and mentorship following the allocation of $7 million in additional funding, board chair Dr. Stanley Hamilton announced today.

September 1 - BC ARTS COUNCIL RECEIVES ADDITIONAL FUNDING
VICTORIA - The British Columbia Arts Council will administer $7 million in funding provided through the B.C. government’s 2010 Sports and Arts Legacy to support their strategic plan, Kevin Krueger, Minister of Tourism, Culture and the Arts announced.

August 10 - INTERIM CHAIR OF BC ARTS COUNCIL NAMED
VICTORIA – Dr. Stanley Hamilton has been named interim chair of the BC Arts Council. Hamilton’s appointment follows the resignation of former chair Jane Danzo, announced Kevin Krueger, Minister of Tourism, Culture and the Arts.

While the BC Arts Council Board is grateful that Government has seen the value of continuing to support the arts in its recent appropriation, especially in these challenging economic times, we recognize the hardship both individuals and organizations face due to the reduction to our budget.

July 28 - $3.8 MILLION FOR ARTISTS, ARTS AND CULTURE GROUPS
VICTORIA - Artists and arts organizations in communities across British Columbia are receiving more than $3.8 million in BC Arts Council grants this month.

July 27 - BC SPIRIT FESTIVALS TO CELEBRATE 2010 LEGACY
VICTORIA - The Province is providing $3 million this year to support arts and cultural festivals in more than 150 communities across British Columbia through the 2010 Sports and Arts Legacy, announced Minister of Tourism, Culture and the Arts Kevin Krueger.

April 19 - KRUEGER PROCLAIMS ARTS AND CULTURE WEEK
VICTORIA – British Columbians are celebrating B.C.’s vibrant arts and cultural community during this, the eleventh annual Arts and Culture Week, Tourism, Culture and the Arts Minister Kevin Krueger announced today.

April 9 - BC ARTS COUNCIL AWARDS $1.9 MILLION TO ARTISTS, ART GROUPS

March 18 - BUDGET UPDATE
VICTORIA - The BC Arts Council is receiving $7.9 million in program funding for fiscal 2010/11. the Province has projeccted to maintain this level of program funding through to 2012/13.
