Schools - Artists in Education
For more than 25 years, the Artists in Education funding program has supported the arts in schools right across the province by providing matching funds for performances, workshops and residencies. Â The program, which is managed by ArtStarts in Schools, has introduced hundreds of thousands of children and youth to traditional and cultural events in a multidisciplinary range of dance, theatre, music, literary, media and visual arts.
Working with some of the most celebrated and respected professional artists in B.C., Artists in Education facilitates students’ access to artistic excellence. Through performances, workshops and residencies, study guides, and teacher participation, this remarkable program brings professional artistic activities to remote, rural and urban schools, providing arts opportunities, exposure and resources for learners, teachers and artists throughout the province.
