Enhanced Capacity Assistance is designed to provide flexible, responsive, general funding to assist professional arts organizations currently supported through the BC Arts Council’s Operating Assistance programs.

This funding assists organizations to undertake significant strategic activity to address artistic and organizational challenges and opportunities, manage transition, support risk, introduce change and innovation, and/or enhance aspects of organizational capacity.

As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the April 15, 2020 and September 30, 2020 deadlines for Enhanced Capacity are cancelled.

Please note: Funds already committed through previous years’ intakes for interim clients for 2020 / 2021 Enhanced Capacity will remain available for those clients.

The decision to cancel this program was made in order to respond as effectively as possible to the COVID-19 crisis. The funds that had originally been allocated for Enhanced Capacity will now go towards our new Arts and Culture Resilience Support program, further details of which will be coming shortly.

These changes to Operating Assistance are among a series of program changes that the BC Arts Council has made in response to the COVID-19 crisis.

The BC Arts Council remains committed to supporting B.C.’s artists and cultural organizations through this difficult time. The most up-to-date information will always be posted on our dedicated COVID 19 FAQ page and individual program pages. Updates will also be announced on our Facebook, and Twitter accounts.
