(On leave) Jules André-Brown is the Executive Director of the BC Museums Association, a leadership consultant, and a musical artist committed to transformational and compassionate leadership in the arts. With over 15 years of experience in community-based cultural work, Jules has led organizations such as ArtStarts in Schools, Arts BC, the BC Family Caregivers Association, and the Spectrum Society for Community Living. His approach is grounded in equity-informed governance, financial stewardship, and strategic planning that strengthens nonprofits and cultural institutions across British Columbia.
He is the past board chair of CiTR Radio and Discorder Magazine and has led youth-led arts spaces as a mentor director at The Space Blanket and advisor to the Esquimalt Community Arts Hub. Jules holds the ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors and has completed advanced studies in leadership, business, and community development.
Jules leads with clarity and purpose, grounded in a strong sense of ethics and inclusion. He brings deep experience in governance, youth engagement, and social services. His work is informed by both lived experience and a research-based approach, reflecting a lasting commitment to building inclusive and resilient communities through thoughtful and evidence-based practice.
A member of Council since December 31, 2021, his current appointment was made on December 31, 2024 for two year term ending December 31, 2027.
