Share Photos & Impact Stories with the BC Arts Council by April 15, 2026
Help us highlight the strength and diversity of BC’s arts community!
The BC Arts Council (BCAC) is inviting you to submit compelling photos and short impact stories from BCAC-funded projects. Your submissions may be featured in our Annual Report, on the BC Arts Council website, in the Province of B.C.’s arts and culture communications, and across social media channels.
Let’s shine a spotlight on your work and share the stories that matter most!
We welcome content that:
- Features projects funded by BCAC between April 1, 2024 – March 31, 2026
- Demonstrates the impact of BCAC funding
- Captures authentic moments and connections—community engagement, creation, reflection, and behind-the-scenes activity
- Reflects/connects to one or more BCAC priority areas:

- Equity, Diversity & Access

- Indigenous Arts and Culture

- Regional & Community Arts

- Sustainability & Creative Development
- Provides strong visual and narrative content for reports and campaigns, including recognition, remembrance and celebration days, annual proclamations, and other communications campaigns

- If your project aligns with a specific cultural celebration or recognition day (e.g., Indigenous Peoples Day, Black History Month, Pride, Asian Heritage Month, etc.), please note this in your submission.
What to Submit
A. Photos
Please submit up to 10 images that:
- Relate directly to BCAC-funded projects or events
- Reflect diversity, inclusion, and community impact
- Show/capture people, process, and place
Specifications
- Quantity: up to 10 photos
- Formats: JPG, PNG, or TIFF. Must be PC-compatible
- Resolution: 300 dpi (or minimum 2000 pixels on the long edge)
- Orientation: Landscape and/or portrait
- Editing: Minimal adjustments; no filters
- Watermark: Do not include a watermark, overlaid text or branding
B. Impact Stories
Please submit short narratives (150–300 words) describing:
- What was funded
- Who was involved and who benefited
- What changed and why it mattered
- How BCAC support contributed
- Connection to BCAC priority areas
Optional details
- Quotes from artists or participants or community members
- Number of artists, audience members, and/or participants
- Location (community, region)
- Cultural context, including connection to cultural celebrations or recognitions days if applicable
- Written testimonials, interviews, photographs, video, audio recordings, project descriptions, outcomes data, and/or related materials
Photo and Impact Stories Consent & Release Form – REQUIRED
All submissions must include a completed BC Arts Council Photo Release Form for photos and a completed BC Arts Council Impact Stories Release Form for impact stories.
Photo Consent & Release form must include:
- Event/project/activity name
- Organization or individuals depicted
- Photographer credit
- Confirmation that the submitting organization holds the copyright
Impact Story Consent & Release form must include:
- Event/project/activity name
- Organization or individuals depicted
- Content creator credit (Author, photographer, videographer, etc.)
- Date activity took place
- Name of BCAC grant that supported this activity
- Confirmation that the submitting organization holds the copyright
Grant recipients are responsible for ensuring:
- Consent/release from all identifiable individuals in photos and stories, including parental/guardian consent for minors
- Cultural permissions where applicable (e.g., Indigenous protocols)
We cannot accept submissions without completed release forms.
How to Submit
Go to the BC Arts Council Upload Portal
- Click “Anonymous Login”
- Click “Add Files” then find your files and click “Upload” in portal
OR
- Find your files then Drag & Drop them into portal and click “Upload”
- Look for “Upload Completed” box to confirm upload is successful
How to Name your Files:
- Ensure name of submitted material matches the description in Photo Release & Consent Form and/or Impact Stories Release and Consent Form
- Use underscore ( _ ) instead of spaces
- Photos:

- Name of your organization, Photo number, Name of grant that supported this project, Year funding was received

- Impact Stories:
