Operating Assistance Program Opens 

The BC Arts Council is pleased to announce that applications for the 2026/27 Operating Assistance program are now open. Applications will be accepted until October 8, 2026. Operating Assistance provides ongoing support to established arts and culture organizations in British Columbia, helping them sustain operations, deliver programming, and serve communities throughout the province. 

This intake reflects a transitional approach that balances support for the arts and culture sector with current fiscal realities. Funding will be provided for one year, with the possibility of a second-year renewal pending program and budget reviews. 

The program is open to both returning and eligible new applicants across all Operating Assistance streams. Funding decisions will be based on published criteria, available resources, and peer assessment outcomes.  

Key Dates 

• Applications close: October 8, 2026 (11:59 p.m. PT) 

• Results announced: late February / early March 2027
