We are thrilled to welcome four new members to the BC Arts Council!

  • Buk Nkosi, Vancouver

All four new members were appointed for terms ending July 31, 2024.

“Congratulations and welcome to the new members of the BC Arts Council,” said Lana Popham, Minister of Tourism, Arts, Culture and Sport. “The council has an integral role in supporting a strong, diverse and thriving arts and culture community and taking action towards true and lasting reconciliation. I look forward to continuing to work with the council along with these newest members in supporting communities across B.C. through arts and cultural activity.”

“BC Arts Council has shown tremendous leadership in developing and implementing systemic change within BCAC to promote transparency, fairness, equity, diversity, inclusion and reconciliation,” said Bob D’Eith, Parliamentary Secretary for Arts and Film. “The addition of these great new members will certainly result in more inspiring and transformative work within the council for the betterment of the arts and culture community.”

“I am excited about the opportunity to work with each of the new Council members and the diverse sets of skills, expertise and experiences they will bring to our work together,” said BC Arts Council Chair Sae-Hoon Stan Chung. “Their voices will be important as we push for equity and work towards a new strategic vision for the BC Arts Council to launch in 2024.”

Current BC Arts Council member Michael Murray (Maple Ridge) was also reappointed for a term ending July 31, 2025.
